Y'all.
Picasa 3 is awesome. If you don't have it, download it for free and manage your pics this way. It's so cinchy.
Also, I enjoy reading comments from you guys, so comment away. Otherwise, I'll think I'm just writing for myself. (Which, lets be honest, I basically am!)
P.S. Maren has slept 8 1/2 to 9 1/2 hours the past 3 nights! Yes!

O'Hara got me a bomb-dig-ity new camera for my birthday. I never even knew I wanted a nice camera until I had this angel baby. Anyway, it's awesome and I take WAY too many pictures now. I have lots to learn!
YES!!! FINALLY I have a hobby. So what do you think about that, O'Hara?? Look out bank account. Here I come!

huh?
Now that she fits into the bumbo, we haven't decided if she likes to sit there or not. Most times, NOT.
Can't believe I'm still awake, but...
Y'ALL!!!!!!!!!
Maren played with a toy today. She is a real person.
She looked at the toy, and actively reached for it with one hand. OVER AND OVER AGAIN. So it wasn't just floundering arm stuff.
She grabbed at it and was so intense about the whole thing. O and I were both in the car when it happened and could hardly believe it.
It may seem silly to see this act as such a huge milestone, but just wait until I start posting about when the child decides to poop on her own.

She didn't scream and cry, y'all!! It was a wonderful day, with so many family members there to show love and support. We are so blessed!
FAT is relative, right?
I was just reflecting on a time in my life when I was fat. Well, anyway, I thought I was fat. I was about 115 lbs.
Then, A few years later, I thought I was fat again. At about 120, I just wished so much that I could go back in time and appreciate when I thought I was fat a 115. How great 115 would be. How could I EVER think that was fat?
Then I got fat.
I gained tons of weight (and mysteriously, too...not really much diet or lifestyle change) around my 23rd birthday. And it stuck. I was nearing 160lbs, people. And for those of you who don't know, I am only about 5 feet tall.
Anyway, I wished so much that I could get down to a size 8. That's all I wanted.
So years later, I did. In fact, currently, I am a size 8. (But I have to add that some shorts are still 10s and a couple dresses are 12s...let's not forget I am a breastfeeding new mama!!!!!!)
Anyway, sometimes you've just got to give yourself a break.
I think that I'll always be able to find things about my body to pick at and dislike. But what I don't do enough of is recognize what great things my body has accomplished. And so has yours.
Whether you've climbed a mountain, overcome an illness, made a baby, survived indulgences....whatever...you've done some great things with that body you'll always find unattractive in some ways!
I hope to never be anywhere near 160 again (unless I am carrying another human being.)
And I plan on not.
But I still love myself and my flabby, saggy body! It's been places, people!

Pawleys--4th of July 2009
Our beach vacation was wonderful. I turned 30 on the first day of our stay and the first 2 weeks of 30 could not have been better!
Rachel came and stayed for a few nights and it was great getting to hang out and pretend that she doesn't live clear across the country.
I THINK I have mastered the art of 2 drinks. To be honest, I'd like to have more sometimes, but it just is plain not worth it to feel bad the next day. Seriously. Who has time for a hangover? Cause I sure don't. Anyway, my new drink is a malibu just like my mama. Yummy. Malibu rum, oj, cran, and some real fruit on top. Can't beat it.
My baby was great. She is sleeping anywhere from 6-8 hours a night. It makes my days so much easier with the rest I get.
I'm kinda pooped out right now, so I'll blog more about the trip later. Also, Maren was baptised yesterday and I have lots of pictures and such to post as well.
